Quick guide

Repair or replace?

Answer three questions to get an indication. We make the final assessment when we see the windscreen.

1Is the damage larger than a five-krona coin (about 28 mm)?
2Is the damage in the driver's field of vision?
3Has a crack formed – or is the damage close to the edge of the windscreen?

Answer the questions to see the result.

Windscreen replacement

With glass cover you usually only pay the excess

What does it cost?

If you have glass cover – it is often included in part and fully comprehensive insurance – you usually only pay the excess for a replacement. Many insurers repair stone chips free of charge.

If you don't have glass cover, we'll give you a quote. The price depends on the car model and its equipment, such as cameras, sensors and heating.

Frequently asked questions

Questions about windscreens

How long does it take to repair a stone chip?

About half an hour. Small stone chips can often be repaired while you wait.

How long does a windscreen replacement take?

Usually one working day – if you leave the car in the morning, you can collect it in the afternoon.

Can I drive with a stone chip?

It's not recommended. A stone chip can quickly turn into a crack, obstruct your view and lead to a remark at the periodic vehicle inspection.

Can the chip crack while it's being repaired?

Glass is under tension, so there is a small risk that the chip gets worse during the repair. The windscreen may then need to be replaced.
